Apple Inc menggadang-gadangkan tentang kehebatan iPhone 5 sebagai smartphone tertipis di Dunia, . Walau klaim tersebut terbukti salah, namun hasil survey yang dilakukan oleh AYTM Research menyatakan bahwa 75% pengguna iphone lama ingin memiliki iPhone terbaru tersebut setidaknya hingga akhir tahun 2012.
Iphone terbaru ini memiliki layar 4 inci, lebih lebar dari pendahulunya iPhone 4 serta menggunakan OS iOS 6 terbaru dengan ditenagai processor Apple A6 serta memiliki pilihan memori penyimpanan berukuran 16,32 dan 64 Gigabyte, serta kelebihan yang sangat dibanggakan Apple adalah kehadiran teknologi Siri.
Walau tidak menggunakan teknologi NFC pada produk terbaru Apple ini, namun antusiasme pencinta gadget untuk memiliki HP ini cukup tinggi, terutama di negara asalnya Amerika Serikat.

Harga iPhone 5 sendiri dipasarkan dengan harga US$199 untuk wilayah USA untuk kapasitas 16 Gb, US$299 untuk ukuran 32Gb dan $399 untuk storage 64Gb, tentu dengan syarat ikatan kontrak dengan operator selama 2 tahun. Untuk harga iPhone tanpa kontrak, sudah pasti akan lebih mahal, sementara untuk di Singapura dijual di kisaran Sin$980 s/d Sin$1250 an, dan di Indonesia sendiri diisukan Harga Iphone 5 adalah dikisaran 7,5 Juta s/d 10 Juta rupiah.
